Ms. Annette Kline is the Conductor and Musical
Director of the North Oakland
Concert Band (NOCB). A position she has held since
1988. In that time, the group has expanded from the
original 15 members to more than 80 musicians. The NOCB
has received excellent reviews from guest conductors and
clinicians throughout the State of Michigan. The band is
regarded as one of the premier community ensembles in the
state. Annette brings a warm style and strong
artistic talent to the NOCB that adult musician’s
desire. The NOCB is a community based ensemble that
performs seven concerts per season.
Ms.
Kline currently teaches Band at Waldon Middle School the Lake
Orion Community School System. Her
ensembles have consistently received superior ratings at MSBOA
festivals. She
was Director of Bands at Brandon Middle School in Ortonville,
Michigan from
1984 until 1994.
Annette Kline has appeared as guest conductor for the
Pontiac Oakland Symphony, the Warren Symphony Orchestra, the
70th Division Army Reserve Band, the Oakland University Wind
Ensemble, the Allen Park Symphonic Orchestra, the Detroit
Chamber Winds, and the Warren Concert
Band.
Annette received her
Bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education from
Oakland University. She
earned her Masters Degree in Instrumental
Conducting from the same institution where she was the
conducting student of Dr. David Daniels. In 1991 she was
honored with Oakland University's
Distinguished Musicianship Award. She is a member of the
Conductors Guild and has participated in many conducting
workshops over the years, throughout the United
States and
abroad.
Ms.
Kline is an active performer, having studied clarinet with
Douglas Cornelson. She is the bass clarinetist for
the “Sweet Licorice” clarinet quartet and
performs regularly throughout the Metropolitan
area.
Annette resides in Lake Orion with her three
children Katherine, Mitchell, and
Julie. |
